Heathcote
Wine Region is located north of the Great Dividing Range.
The region is at elevations between 160m and 380m with
the majority of soil under vine being Cambrian, an
ancient red and deep soil with excellent water retention.
Heathcote is famous for producing world class Shiraz but
is also capable of creating excellent wines with
Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Petit
Verdot, Merlot, Riesling and Viognier.
Located at the junction of two major highways, Heathcote is a convenient distance from Melbourne, Bendigo, Echuca and other large towns. Heathcote is 109 kilometres north of Melbourne.
